IATA CBTA (Competency Based Training Assessment) Training

Training for Dangerous Goods by Air is changing, and IVS is proud to be delivering the new CBTA framework for IATA Dangerous Goods by Air.  IATA no longer offer Category 3 and 6 training and this has moved to the competencies listed in Appendix H (click here). Please see table H6.2.A.

IVS is delivering a 3-day recurrent and 5-day initial training that covers the below job functions as they align with the old Category 6 framework. Iata Cbta  Provider  Rgb

Areas of Appendix H that are covered by IVS IATA training:

  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Preparing DG Consignments - H.6.1. 
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for General Cargo Accepting and Processing Personnel - H.6.2.  
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Processing or Accepting DG Consignments -H.6.3. 

The 5-Day Initial Training:

This course is designed for persons involved in Air Cargo processing and handling of Dangerous Goods, who either have no prior DGR training or who have not updated their training during the past 24 months. This course fulfills ICAO and IATA training requirements and qualifies you to handle and process dangerous goods for carriage by air for a 24-month period.

The 3-day Recurrent Training:

It is mandatory to undergo recurrent DGR training every 24 months on the latest regulations and trends related to the carriage of dangerous goods. This refresher course provides awareness of the current legal requirements, operational restrictions, packaging instructions, marking, labeling, and documentation regulation for dangerous goods, all in accordance with the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Manual 2023 64th edition.
