Forklift - Platforms

Unit standard 18409 Level 3 Credits 4

Use a forklift mounted safety platform in the workplace.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:

• Identify a powered industrial lift truck (PILT) safety cage and prepare to use a safety platform for a specified task on a worksite
• Complete pre-operational checks, and fit and remove safety platform to and from a PILT
• Use a PILT fitted with a safety platform to complete work at heights

For the observed part of the practical assessment the following need to be available:

• Forklift
• Safety cage showing current valid certification

ONSITE ONLY - 3-4 hours

English language proficiency: 
Trainees are required to have a level of written and oral English equivalent to NCEA Level 1 (year 11) or IELTS 5 or higher, to attend our courses due to training and assessment requirements. If you require a reader/writer support person to accompany you on the course, please contact us to arrange this before booking.
