First Aid Refresher Training
Our First Aid Refresher training course is for people who hold a current first aid certificate that requires renewal. According to WorkSafe regulations, it is advised that first aiders undergo refresher training every two years to maintain their certification and stay up-to-date with current practices.
There are three parts to this course:
- Online Pre-Learning:
The pre-learning is segmented into modules, allowing participants to progress at their own pace. Throughout the course, participants will encounter videos, resources, interactive activities, and formative assessments, all designed to facilitate their learning journey. This takes approximately 2-hours to complete. Completion of the online component is mandatory before attending the in-person practical session, and participants must present their certificate of completion to the trainer.
- The In-person Practical Session:
New Zealand Resuscitation Council approved Emergency Care Instructors will address any queries participants may have from the pre-learning and guide participants in refreshing their first aid management skills.
- The Assessment:
Completed on the same day, there will be practical assessments to ensure the participant is able to demonstrate the right skills to respond in a simulated accident or emergency. Unit Standards will not be awarded upon completion of refresher courses.
In total, the practical training and assessment should take 4 hours. Where the course can be completed onsite, trainers will adapt scenario-based activities to the workplace.
Please Note: Failure to provide evidence of completing the online pre-learning will result in the participant not being awarded a First Aid Revalidation certificate.
